Nestlé to Launch Blockchain Supply Chain Tracking Pilot Program

Nestlé has announced a blockchain pilot which will allow consumers to track product sustainability and provenance.[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]The food retail giant won’t be using IBM‘s blockchain tool IBM Food Trust. The company will implement supply chain tracking via blockchain platform OpenSC, developed by World Wildlife Fund (WWF) Australia and The Boston Consulting Group Digital Ventures.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]The program will start by tracing milk from producers in New Zealand to Nestlé’s factories and warehouses in the Middle East. Nestlé expects to add palm oil sourced in the Americas at a later date. “We believe it is another important step towards the full disclosure of our supply chains announced by Nestlé in February this year, raising the bar for transparency and responsible production globally,” said a Nestlé representative in a press release.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_cta h2=”JOIN TO OUR TELEGRAM CHANNEL” h4=”ALL THE LATEST BREAKING NEWS ON TELEGRAM” css=”.vc_custom_1534928484642background-color: #44d8dd !important;”]Join to our Telegram channel HYIP.com to be always up-to-date with the latest news of the cryptocurrency space.[/vc_cta][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]As a reminder, the blockchain-based IBM Food Trust initiative has been underway since fall 2016, with the first product trials spearheaded by Walmart in China in December 2016.
