Facebook Hires Two Former Coinbase Blockchain Specialists

Facebook has hired two former Coinbase’s specialists. Jeff Cartwright, ex-Coinbase’s internal audit chief joined Facebook as a policy and compliance manager this month, according to his LinkedIn profile.[vc_row][vc_column][vc_column_text]A lawyer by training, Cartwright spent the first three years at Coinbase managing the startup’s AML and Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) compliance, was promoted to head of internal audit in March 2017, and then to director of regulatory risk and exams in December of last year.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row][vc_row][vc_column width=”1/2″][vc_column_text]Mikheil Moucharrafie, who left Coinbase in April as risk manager after more than three years, also joined Facebook this month as compliance manager and risk manager. Since the beginning of the month, social media giant has been hiring 20 specialist, including: threat investigator, technology communications director, data scientist, two product managers and a product designer, marketing and brand strategy managers, various UX researchers and other roles. In December 2018, the social media giant was hiring five new staff members for blockchain team at its Menlo Park, California. Back in May, Facebook launched its blockchain team, with the reported aim of exploring the emerging technology.[/vc_column_text][/vc_column][/vc_row]
